Writing great articles for ezines directories and readers

Writing articles is by far one of the best marketing techniques. A well written informative article can bring a great deal of traffic to your website or blog. Over a short period of time your articles can be seen in article directories all over the Internet. It is one of the best ways to increase links to blogs and websites.

Success with article marketing stems from three things. Giving the article directories what they want. Giving ezine publishers what they want and giving readers what they want. If you keep the following points in mind when beginning your article marketing campaign you will soon see a huge difference to your daily website hits.

Here are a few points to consider when submitting articles to directories for approval.

· Does your article comply with the directories terms and conditions?

· Is your article TOO self-serving.

· Does your article get to the point quickly?

· Did you write your article yourself?

· Is your content unique?

Tips for getting your articles re-printed by ezine publishers.

· Is your article format correct?

· Have you spell checked and proof read your article.

· Is your article of reasonable length, i. e. 300-700 words?

· Is your article written in the third person?

· Does your article contain self-serving links in the body?

· Does your article contain more than two self-serving links in the bio?

· Is your article a blatant self-promotion?

· Is your content organized?

Points to consider when writing for readers.

· Have you spell checked and proof read your article.

· Is your article rehashed?

· Does your article enlighten or teach your reader.

· Is the theme of your article clear?

· Is your layout easily navigated and understood?

· Is your grammar and punctuation correct?

· Does your article leave your reader needing answers?

If you answer these questions honestly and positively then you are well on your way to having great success with article marketing. However if your articles are lacking in some areas now is the time edit, re-write or scrap these articles and get them up to par in order to have them approved by directories and regularly re-printed by ezine publishers.

Take a survey and make money from home

Online surveys have always been used as an innovative marketing strategy. They define consumer perception and opinion and help to shape future marketing efforts. That’s why companies pay people to take surveys and make money from home.

Why do companies pay to take surveys?

The wrong marketing approach can cost a company millions of dollars in loss. That’s why they would rather pay people to take surveys and get correct opinion – than giving it for free. Also by paying people, companies stand greater chances at getting people to participate in surveys. Besides for people it can be a great way to make money from home. By just writing a few surveys, people provide their honest opinion and take home a good income each month!

How much can you get paid?

The amount of payout for taking surveys will depend to a large extent on the length of the survey. Besides this, to start to make money from home you also need to take those surveys which are more intensive. This way you can earn more per survey, rather than doing many and earning lesser. While the longer surveys help you make money from home very quickly and in one shot, the shorter ones demand lesser time per survey. This means that you’re actually able to make money from home within a shorter time span. Some of the longer surveys even pay out 150 dollars for a single one. The focus group surveys are some of the most lucrative ones around. Some of them have been known to pay even 250 dollars for participation! You might take 1-2 hours to complete the focus group survey but it is definitely worth it since you make money from home very quickly.

How can I get started?

To get started to make money from home using online surveys you need to register your name and contact details on the site. To maximize your potential to make money from home it is best to go for sites that payout in cash or an equivalent form. Interestingly just 20% of sites pay in cash while the remaining do not.

How to locate such campaigns?

You can search for such paid surveys by hunting in your favorite search engine. While some companies act as marketing companies and process such surveys, others might be intermediary forces between such companies. No matter what the situation paid surveys represent great ways to make money from home. Besides a majority of such paid survey sites are free of cost and do not require you to pay any initial fees. This way you have nothing to lose and can make money from home without spending anything! Some other sites may ask for a cost towards membership. However the free sites are far better than the paid ones for sure.

Niche marketing mini-sites making money online doesn t get any easier

Over the last two years I've built two profitable niche websites and it wasn't quick or easy. I can attest to the experience of other successful niche marketers who report it takes about two years to achieve a 4 figure monthly income.

Along the way your patience is put to the test by daily income reports that never seem to budge and you start to wonder if it's all just a big waste of time. If you're a first time entrepreneur, waiting for your hard work to achieve critical mass and explosive earnings can be maddening.

When I built my first website the prevailing wisdom was to build a large, 50+ page content rich website. With 25 years of off line business experience behind me, I was prepared for whatever this new internet marketing business model threw at me. And after 3 or 4 months of part time work I got my first check from Google.

But this isn't everyone's cup of tea, especially if you're just itching to get started and can't wait to see those five fabulous words: Pay to the order of.

The problem is finding a comprehensive, A-Z program that matches the skills, financial goals and, most importantly, the enthusiasm of developing entrepreneurs.

Enter the Niche Marketing Mini-Site

First and foremost, what really turns me on about the Mini-Site concept is all you have to do is build a one page website. This is as quick and easy as it gets!

Depending on the profitability of the niche you choose, the earnings from one mini site probably won't equal those of a mega-site, but collectively they can add up to big bucks: One-one page site at a time.

How to Evaluate Niche Marketing Mini-Site Programs

What you DON'T want is one of those boiler plate, look a like internet marketing sites that thousands (millions?) of others have slapped up on the web. It's almost impossible to make money with this type of site simply because the competition is overwhelming.

What you DO want is a Mini-Site based on a niche product or service with high consumer interest and the least amount of competition. Any Mini-Site program worth its salt will show you exactly how to use supply and demand to find these over looked opportunities.

Once you've found a profitable niche, you'll want help building your website – even if it's only one page. A worthwhile Mine-Site program will either offer a template you can optimize for your niche, or step by step instructions for creating a landing page.

The final step is promoting your soon to be profitable Mini-Site. The whole idea behind a Mini-Site is quick and easy, but if you aren't shown the most effective techniques to promote your site, you could easily waste hundreds of hours promoting a site that took only 3 hours to build!

A comprehensive Mini-Site program should also include time tested, inexpensive, and effective methods to promote your online business.

Just one more thing – I highly recommend the Mini-Site Niche Marketing concept as the quickest, easiest, and least expensive method to earn substantial cash online.

The simple beauty of restaurant glassware

There’s a trend happening in the world today that has spawned everything from reality television shows to lengthy books – the art of redecorating. Suddenly an old couch needs a new cover; walls need painting; and floors need stripping. And along with this sudden influx of style comes the inevitable attention turning to kitchenware. Because in the way of updating your kitchen – giving it a fresh, hip look – without breaking the bank, it’s easier and more cost affordable to replace the dishes rather than the cabinets!

Retro style has become something of a trend as of late. And there’s no better way to infuse some retro style into your kitchen than with the addition of restaurant glassware. The cost benefits are obvious; restaurant glassware is mass-produced, extremely affordable, and easily available at restaurant supply wholesalers.

But in addition to these benefits, restaurant glassware can provide a whole new look for your kitchen and home. Its simple lines and unadorned designs give restaurant glassware a retro chic. And its neutrality allows for it to fit in with any style of kitchen and table design. Creating a look for a holiday meal or dinner party can be done without having to change your glassware, as restaurant glassware is neutral enough to adopt any color or look of your dressed table.

Try using different cloth napkins to transform simple restaurant glassware into a custom table design. Folding napkins inside the glassware can be colorful and decorative. Tie ribbon around glassware for a holiday look or raffia for a garden party. The ideas are endless.

Additionally, the affordability of restaurant glassware allows for the purchase of large quantities, so having a crowd for a meal is not out of the question. Plus, the sturdy design of restaurant glassware means that it holds up well under any circumstances – from excessive handling to frequent washing. You may find that it is the perfect material for children as well.

Restaurant glassware is not just reserved for eating out anymore. These versatile, sturdy, and affordable pieces can be a welcome addition to any home – and go a long way towards transforming your table.

How to compete against larger companies

Do you think that because you have a small business you can’t compete against larger companies? If you do then think again. Most small business owners don’t feel that they are in the same arena as larger companies so they don’t even bother to try. This can be a big mistake and one that can cost your company in the long run.

Growing your company takes some competitive moves. Sure, you can continue to operate as you always have but this routine will not get you ahead. There are some tips, however, if you want to expand your business opportunities and compete against the big boys.

Think big. Always have the big picture in mind. Thinking big means picturing what can be more than what already is. The day to day routine can get you in a rut and you can get so hung up on it that you fail to look ahead.

Have passion. Loving what you do can help you get ahead. The passion you have for your business not only helps catapult the company ahead but also helps motivate employees on a daily basis. Passion also translates directly to sales. The passion you feel for your business can be more easily brought to the bottom line when there are fewer employees. Larger companies have to work twice as hard to get the same feelings across to customers.

Think outside the box. This may sound like an old clichй but it really is true. If you can have vision to do things differently you just may get ahead. This is particularly true when it comes to competing with larger companies. Think of ways that your company can provide something better than the large company can.

Think ahead. Instead of thinking about this month’s numbers you should be looking towards the future. Great companies are made by revolutionaries - those who look ahead to the future to see the possibilities. Larger companies may use large telecom services such as OC3 connection. You can use the same technology on a smaller scale by ordering a T1. This state of the art communication service allows you all the same features and benefits at a much smaller cost.

Find your niche. Once you know what your market is you’ll be much better able to cater to it. Larger companies often lose focus and try to market to too broad a group. Instead use your marketing skills to your advantage. Yes, you have a much lower marketing budget than the larger companies do. But you can use your marketing strategies to your advantage if you know your niche.

Use the Internet to your advantage. The web has brought large and small companies to an even playing field. Make sure that you use the Internet to boost your business. Always have a web site presence. Don’t skimp when it comes to your website. You don’t need lots of pages but you do need a professional look. Be sure to put your website address on all your brochures and business cards.

Provide what the big companies can’t or don’t. Look for weaknesses in your competition and use those to build your business. For example, one place where many larger companies fail is in providing good customer service. Small businesses can give better service because they care about each customer. Be sure to use that to help you win business over the larger competition.

Great tips and ideas on alarm watches

Vibrating Watches and alarm watches are becoming very popular these days and are packed with features that were not available when they first came out.

I think one of the first popular brands was Casio and I remember well spending a lot of time reading the instructions and setting my first watch up.

All though they were a new innovation at the time and they had a lot of ‘toy’ value they were not that reliable as I recall. They had many features but understanding how to set them up I found to be quite a trial.

I was surprised at how much noise one of those small wrist alarm watches could produce. So they have no problem at all in waking you up. You can of course turn the sound down. Do you remember the old fashioned mechanical alarm clocks that used to wake you up with quite a start? Well alarm watches that are set up correctly can do just as good a job without the jump factor.

They are not only useful for waking you up in the morning they have also many features that can be used throughout the day.

They can be used as popular reminder watches if say you have an important meeting to attend. Or you may have an appointment to keep. They can be used as Pill Alarm Timers so you’ll never forget to take your medication again. Some of these alarm watches have up to 200 alarms available per day to help you manage your very active and busy lifestyle.

There are even alarm watches that claim to waken you up at the most effective and alert time. How does that work you say? Well it works like this. You set the watch to waken you up not at a specific time rather a small window of time; instead of 6.45am on the dot you choose a setting between 6.30am and 7.00am.

The watch has tracked your sleep cycles all night through the different sleep states. So the watch chooses to waken you up at your most alert state some time between your chosen time points. The makers claim you will be woken at your most refreshed and energetic time. What a marvelous idea!

Alarm watches have certainly moved on over the last few years and there is a terrific range of products to choose from. The internet is the place to shop in my opinion but go for a branded company and then you are much less likely to get duped. And remember that alarm watches are also good looking these days so you can also view your watch as a fashion accessory.

What a high ranking in search engines can do for you

Do you currently run your own online website? If so, what type of website do you have? Popular website types include online retail stores and content websites. Whether you own a content website or an online retail store, do you know where your website ranks with the main search engines? If not, you should. If you aren’t already aware, you will find that there are a number of different ways that you, your online website, or your online business can benefit from high search engine rankings.

As you likely already know, search engines are websites which allow internet users to quickly search for a particular topic or website. Online, you will find hundreds, maybe even thousands of different search engines, but it is important to remember one thing; not all search engines are created equal. In reality, you will find that there are only a limited number of search engine rankings that will actually make a difference, by increasing the traffic to your website. Those search engines tend to include Google, Yahoo!, Ask. com, MSN, and AOL. Of course that doesn’t mean that you should forget about all of the other search engines, but it does mean that you should place most of your focus on the aforementioned search engines.

Although it is important to know which search engines you should target, you may also be wondering why you should even bother. As previously mentioned, search engines are designed to connect internet users with what they need or what they are looking to find online. Whether you run an online business that sells a particular product or a service, you can greatly benefit from having a high ranking in the search engines. In fact, you may very well find that your sales increase, maybe even double or triple! This is because the ways of finding a business are changing. Phone books and directory assistance are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, many individuals are using the internet to find what they are looking for, including a retailer who is selling what they want.

As you can see, a high ranking in the search engines will help your website see an increase in traffic and maybe even in sales. The only problem is that getting a high search engine ranking is a little bit easier said than done. For example, what type of online business do you run? If you run a business that has a fairly large amount of competition, such as a baby clothes store, there is a good chance that you may find it harder to get your online website a high internet search engine ranking. Of course, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible, but it will likely take a fairly large amount of work. This is because a high ranking is often considered one that gets you on the first or second page of results, third page at the most. With all of the competition out there, you may find that it takes time and trial and error to get your website to reach a search engine ranking that can benefit you.

As you likely already know running an online website, whether it be a business website or not, can be a time consuming process. That is why, if you are interested, you may want to think about seeking professional assistance. That professional assistance could come from an internet marketing firm that specializes in SEO. SEO, as you likely already know, stands for search engine optimization. Whether it be through link building, article syndication, or press releases, or a combination of them all, you will find that a professional internet marketing firm that specializes in SEO can give you want you and your online website needs to survive in the world of online businesses.

Whether you make the decision to familiarize yourself with search engine optimization or if you hire the services of a professional internet marketing firm, you are advised to take action. With the proper steps, you, your website, or your online business could start seeing an increase in traffic in as little as a month!

Crafting good title tags for seo and clickability

It's amazing to me, the number of people who still do not take proper advantage of the power of the title tag. The title tag, is arguably THE most important on-page factor in SEO (and much more as you'll soon learn).

If you happen not to be too versed in HTML coding I'll explain what the title tag is.

The title tag is found within the and tags of a webpage. It's format is as follows:

Your Page Title Here

The title tag is important for two very simple reasons.

1) The title of the page is given an enormous amount of weight by the search engines. It always has and it always will. It's of less importance today than it was 6 or 7 years ago, but it is still the most important on-the-page factor a page has. After all, it's sole purpose is to describe the page so it *should* be considered important.

2) The title tag is also used as the anchor text of your listing in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). When someone visits a search engine and runs a search for one of your products, if one of your pages comes up in that search, it is the title tag that the visitor will see (along with a short description) and be able to click on to visit that page.

The problem is a LOT of webmaster's simply don't understand or make proper use of the title tag. Instead of name the page using keywords relevant to that specific page, they use their company name, etc.

Unless you are FORD, GE, or some other multi-million dollar company you should NEVER have your company name or website name (unless it's an SEO'ed website name) in the title tag. Are people going to be searching for your company or website name or are they going to be searching for keywords related to your product or service?

Let's look at a quick example from a real search I ran earlier today:

So a ran a search for "lawn chairs" clicked to page number two and there sitting at #14 is a site with the title "Brookbend".

Now, this particular site actually has a LOT wrong with it, but for now we'll stick to the title tag, or lack-there-of as this particular site's title tag actually just said "Untitled Document". As a result, Google replaced that with the name from the URL which Google will often do when a webmaster does something stupid such as this. ;)

As I said, this particular listing was the 14th listing for "lawn chairs". That is actually VERY good considering it doesn't have a title tag. Imagine what it could have ranked if it had actually made use of the title tag? Possible using something along the lines of:

*Beautiful Outdoor Furniture, Lawn Chairs, Patio Tables*

Think they may have been able to achieve an even better rank? I would venture to say yes.

Now, there is also a second problem with their lack of a title tag and that is that their listing in the search engine is simply "Brookbend". I don't know about you, but if I'm looking for "lawn chairs" I'm probably not going to click on a listing that just says "Brookbend". For one reason, it doesn't contain either of the search terms I used in the title. For another thing, it isn't very "clickable".

You see, a title tag should do two things. It should incorporate that pages most important phrases and it should make someone want to click on it. You will notice in my above example, for the title I used "Beautiful Outdoor Furniture...". That is because, while I wanted the keywords in there, I also wanted it to read well and entice the surfer to click on it. After all, it doesn't do much good to get a top ranking if no one clicks on your listing.

So, when you are designing your pages always remember to:

1) Decide on what that pages target keywords are

2) Incorporate those keywords into the title tag of the page

3) Make sure the title tag is enticing enough to make the visitor WANT to click on it.

Do the above three consistently and you will see the results in no time.

See you at the top!

How to bind documents with velobind hard cases

Hardcases have an elegant texture and design, to provide the impressive appearance of a casebound book. One option for achieving this elegant and impressive look is by using your GBC Velobind binding machine along with Velobind hardcases. Velobind hardcases are available in five standard thicknesses from 1/4" up to 1-3/8". If you look at a Velobind Hardcase, you will notice the following features:

1. The inside cover is marked with a letter (A, B, C, D or E). This letter designates the size (thickness) of document that particular hardcase will accommodate. The benefit to the customer is that they will always know what thickness hardcase they have, even if it is not in the original carton.

2. Two end sheets (fly sheets are used with each hardcase (they are packed separate in the carton containing the hardcases). These end sheets are adhesive backed, and are to be bound with the document being inserted into the hardcase. These sheets will adhere to the inside of the front and back hardcover.

Hold an end sheet so that the folded tear-off sheet faces you. Notice that there is a portion of the sheet which is exposed just opposite the fold. This "lip" is the area that will be punched in the binding process.

3. The backbone of the hardcase is made with "softfoam" adhesive spine. Lift the paper backing up slightly on the backbone (do not remove it at this time) to see the adhesive. The adhesive foam helps hold the document to the hardcase during the binding process.

Once you have the document that you need to bind in hand you need to choose the size of hardcase that is appropriate for that document. In order to determine what letter size of case you need for your document you can refer to the chart on the Backstop of the Velobind or Surebind system three pro. Take your hardcase and open it up to check what letter is stamped on it.

Place on end sheet on top of the document and one on the bottom (where you would normally place the binding covers). The folded tear off sheet should face the hardcase, itself. Also, the lip should be on the edge to be bound.

Punch the document, including the end sheets. Bind the document like any other Velobind Or SureBind bound book (the end sheets will act as covers) using a standard Velobind HotKnife Strip. Now your document is ready to be bound into the hardcase.

Take the hardcase, open it and lay it on the table (inside up). Take the document to be bound and lay it on the table. Remove the protective strip from the backbone to expose the adhesive. Take your bound document, and center the document on the back cover of the hardcase, pressing the strip portion into the backbone adhesive. If the book is not centered, carefully pick it up, and realign till centered. Fold the front cover over the top of the document, making sure that the hard case front cover and back cover are in alignment. If not, repeat process till centered. You can move the document as many times as necessary until you have pulled the fly sheets - then it is permanently bound.

If you are right handed, use your left hand to place it firmly on the top of the document where the strip is (you will want to keep it from moving within the hardcase). Then, take your right hand and reach under the inside of the front cover until you can grip the foldback sheet of the end paper. Gently pull up on it, letting the hard cover fall on the adhesive-coated end paper. Repeat this process for the back cover. One the tear-off sheet is completely out of the book, press down completely over the entire front and back cover make sure all the adhesive is adhered to the case.

A curious tale about solar panels

THE SEPTEMBER 2006 ISSUE OF SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN was dedicated to exploring the future of energy beyond the carbon era. The editors share a sobering outlook: 'Decades may pass before hydrogen-powered trucks and cars relegate gasoline-and diesel-fueled vehicles to antique auto shows.' Until that happens, we’ll 'muddle-through' somehow. (Scientific American: 3)

But why does it take so long for some energy technologies to get from the lab and industrial applications to the service of consumers? Take solar panels, for example.

A high-street electronics chain in London now sells educational solar-power kits for around the Ј20 mark. Serious, roof-dwelling solar panels that will power equipment in your home sell in DIY superstores at around Ј2,500. That’s a price-tag for the wealthy or very committed, but at least consumers can push their trolleys past the technology

SOLAR PANELS HAVE ONLY RECENTLY APPEARED on the shelves of retail outlets, so you'd forgive them for posing as new technology. But they're not. While England was priming itself for what was to become its most famous World Cup, a contributor to the July 1966 edition of Wireless World faced a copy deadline for the magazine. His name was D. Bollen, and he provided a circuit for a solar-powered battery charger.

As he put it: 'The ability of solar cells to convert sunlight directly into useful electrical energy has been well demonstrated in satellite applications. An advantage of the solar battery is that is allows true, unattended operation in locations remote from a power supply and…promises an outstanding degree of reliability.’ (Wireless World: 343)

Over four meticulously-illustrated pages, Bollen goes on to provide a blueprint for a circuit that will trickle-charge a battery from a solar cell. Bollen shows that you can run something that uses one milliamp of current for '2.74 hours' in a 24 hour period. He leaves us guessing what application he had in mind for this tiny current, but the rig could also have powered the bulb of a toy torch for a few seconds a day.

Still, the circuit is there and the date is mid-1966. Don’t be distracted by Bollen’s talk of ‘satellite applications’. His circuit is a million miles from rocket-science – in fact it’s the simplest of the bunch in this edition of a magazine that was pitched at everyone between novice constructor and electronics professional.

Someone with barely any experience could have thrown a demonstration version of this circuit together in fifteen minutes flat. And all the parts were available from specialist suppliers in London and south-east England.

The listed supplier for 'assorted selenium and silicon cells' is International Rectifier. I contacted the company to find out how much a similar solar-cell cost at the time Bollen wrote his feature.

A single cell measuring about a centimetre by two centimetres cost four dollars, right up to 1966. In his feature, Bollen describes various combinations between one cell and four, so the most expensive part of his circuit cost between four and 16 dollars, or about $25-100 dollars in today's money.

World's first solar-powered car: 1912

But what came back from International Rectifier (IR) proved far more interesting than price information. It turns out that the company had demonstrated the world's first solar-powered car - a 1912 model of the Baker Electric - as early as 1958. They achieved the stunt by making a high-output solar panel - less than two metres long and just over a metre wide - from a whole bank of little solar cells.

Commercial, industrial and military customers went on to buy solar panels from International Rectifier.

SO WHY HAS IT TAKEN ALMOST FIFTY YEARS for solar panels to reach our shops?

Southface, a non-profit, sustainable-living organisation based in the USA, point out that solar-cell technology has had been uselessly competing against the relative fall in price that occurred in the fossil-fuel market in the nineties.

But Southface believe that major orders of consumer solar cell units in countries such as Japan may finally signal the start of an era when solar cell production will benefit from economies of scale.

I hope so. In the meantime, it's anyone's guess how long will it take for the consumer-led technology revolution to swat our energy problems.

Submit your article to article directories-banks dos don ts

The most targeted website traffic will come from article marketing, which means submitting articles to article directories-Banks. Although it is a timeworn expression, it has been confirmed countless times since many internet marketers rely their website promotion on article marketing.

Unfortunately, it is not as simple as it may seem. Only few false actions could lead the internet marketer’s article marketing campaign to failure or at least to ineffectiveness. That happens because that relatively new online marketing method do has some rules. If the marketer does not comply with them, poor results will be the outcome.

• Follow the directory rules.

Although it is tempting to buy a script that submits automatically to article directories, that solution should be avoided. Every article directory publisher has some guidelines and rules that following them to the point is a requirement for accepting the submission.

• Choose the right category.

It seems simple but many people pass it over. The right thematic category where the article should be included has to be chosen carefully not only because of the danger of rejection but also because of the marketing potential, the article will have. The right category means targeted people reading the article, which leads to the conclusion that the information might be interesting and consequently search for more by visiting the writer’s website.

• Be careful with PLR (Private Label Articles).

That’s another one temptation. Why bother writing, since thousands of PLR articles are out there and some of them free? If only it was so simple. Someone else has already submitted the PLR articles before. Therefore, the publisher will reject the resubmitted article. After all, with the advanced anti-copy software that exists in the market it is only a few seconds task to locate the duplicate article.

• Avoid Affiliate Links

Article marketing is a profitable internet marketing technique but not in such way. The “quick buck” tactic is so unprofessional that it is certain it will lead to opposite results. Displaying affiliate links in the article’s text means that writer is a novice and does not know the internet-marketing trend and the reader will be discouraged about reading more. Moreover, many authoritative article banks do not allow affiliate links in the articles and some not even in the resource box. A great example is ezinearticles. com

• Keyword Density is important but proceed with caution.

Keyword Density is the procedure of selecting the right keywords included in the article, aiming to better search engine ranking according to the article’s primary keyword, which eventually leads to more website traffic and sales. The safe ratio for keyword density of the submitted article is the percentage 10%. That means the keywords the writer will use should not overcome the 10% of the overall text. If there is over optimizing search engines will trace it and don’t rank it well (or even at all) and so the whole article marketing strategy will go in vain.

• Submit to all of them? No way.

You have a marketing article and you submit it to a self-improvement directory hoping that they will list it? I t will not happen. The reason is simple. The readers are not targeted and they are not interested in the specific niece. The publisher already knows that and won’t even deal with the article at all. All this is a time consuming process leading to nowhere. The submissions should only take place to relevant article directories-Banks.

• Use short paragraphs.

Do not get beyond the 5-6 lines in every paragraph. It becomes too tiring for the reader the long passages and it will be discouraging for them to continue reading. Short paragraphs will maximize the readership of the article and eventually more clicks to the recourse’s box links.

• Sub headings are necessary.

Sub headings create a more appealing structure for the article. Actually, they take the readers by the head and help them to scan the article on its entirety. If the subheadings are interesting, the readers will stay and keep reading, if not they will leave.

Mum the home based internet business

Motherhood can be a source of frustration for many women who find themselves caught between making a decision to return to the workforce, or to remain at home to raise the children.

It is sometimes difficult to give up or delay pursuing a career and to sacrifice personal fulfillment in their chosen profession & social independence and, of course, that all-important second family income. Life appears to becoming more and more expensive with each and every day and the supplementary income (in some cases the main source of income) assists with Mortgage Payments, Household Expenses, Motor Vehicle Repayments & Maintenance, Clothing and an endless chain of Accounts & Bills. It is an important part of a family income plan as very few families can survive in this day and age on just one household income alone.

Against this though, are the drawbacks and costs involved in both parents actively being away from home following the birth of their child/children. Childcare, Pre-Schools, Before & After School Care and Babysitters are likely to incur rather high costs which eat away at the household income. It is always difficult to witness your own children being brought up by strangers or other family members and, at the same time, missing out on those wonderful moments in their formative years. On an even more serious note, the strain sometimes placed on two-income families can have devastating results in relationships, resulting in divorce and anti-social behavior by children. Added pressure placed on the working mother can lead to both emotional and physical effects as a result of having to also attend to the husband, children, cooking, shopping, cleaning and other associated tasks within the household. Little time is left for socializing, entertaining and enjoyment. The time constraints also seriously compromise the nurturing and protection of their children.

Of course, there are instances where things will work out fine for the families in the above situation, however more and more women are taking a stance and becoming Business Entrepreneurs by establishing their very own Home Based Internet Business.

There will still be pressure to maintain the lifestyle and income, however a Home Based Internet Business has advantages that cannot be replicated when both parents are involved in the daily 9 to 5 routine. Most of these have been explored in earlier posts, but include :

* Cost Savings on Transport, Clothes, Meals etc.

* Better Time-Management

* Extended Family Time

* Possible Tax Benefits

* Working Your Own Hours

Ladies, take a stand today and begin your very own Home Based Internet Business.

Yours In Business Success

Avoiding persuasion pitfalls part 1

"Linguistics is arguably the most hotly contested property in the academic realm. It is soaked with the blood of poets, theologians, philosophers, philologists, psychologists, biologists, anthropologists, and neurologists, along with whatever blood can be got out of grammarians." - Russ Rymer

Who knew linguistics was such a hotbed of activity?

I have an image of professors in tweed giving their intellectual enemies fierce tongue lashings.

What is it about language that incites so much arguing?

Language, despite it's beauty and potential, also divides and separates.

Keeping in mind the thought, 'The pen is mightier than the sword', I'd like to examine the eight most counterproductive words as applied to persuasion.

These words diminish persuasion not only in daily interactions, but in your interactions with your affluent prospects and clients. Most specifically in groups of elite individuals do we need to be congruent in our actions and words.

For each of these words, there is an exception to the rule and as you learn the reasons why these words don't work well in many situations, feel free to explore how the exceptions to the rules work to your advantage.

However, if you're a beginning persuader, these words should be avoided at all cost.

When we first begin to understand the importance of rapport, it can be a tricky thing to keep hold of.

Persuasion is weak at first and then as you learn to navigate your way through it, it becomes quite magnetic. When working with an affluent prospect or client, what your magnetic persuasion skills are really telling them are: 'I am like you'.

The eight most dangerous words in persuasion kill the rapport that you have established, they stop it from growing and cast doubt.

BUT.

'But' cancels out everything that was said before it.

"I'd really love to buy your product, but. . ." Hmm... that doesn't sound like a sale, does it?

"I think you're really fun to be around, but. . ." But, I don't want to be around you anymore.

As you can see 'but' cancels out absolutely everything before it. It's all gone.

TRY.

Trying always presupposes failing. Either you're going to do it, or you're not going to do it. There is no such thing as 'try'.

Try is an excellent word to use on an advanced level, and until you're there, don't use it.

IF.

'If' is a weak word similar to 'try'. It presupposes that you "might not" do as you say.

"If you want to sign up for our service..."

Is that confidence? Is that reassuring to hear? Nope.

'If' isn't supportive. It is weak and lacks intention. It gives people a way out. 'If' gives you a way out.

MIGHT.

Another of our wishy-washy weak words is 'might'.

"I might be able to help you." Well, can you help me or not?

'Might' takes away your personal power. If you speak authoritatively, you will be respected by the affluent and rewarded with their business.

3 simple way to stop affiliate link hijackers

There are many ways to earn an honest buck using the Internet, while others just try to find the best deals possible. There was a time when people that were surfing the Net were more prone to click on the affiliate links and buy stuff without thinking too much of it. Not it seems that the things are a little bit different, due to the fact that the prices are higher than they were before and some people try to "Hijack" the commissions by replacing the ID of the affiliate links with their ID.

Let’s suppose that you have an affiliate link such as productdomain . com/?affID, and the hijacker will replace your link with his ID, which is "newID": productdomain . com/?newID. This is how he manages to take the money that is rightfully yours.

There are also cases when the hijacker will replace your ID from the link. The visitors will be redirected to the plain URL and buy the products they find there, without even seeing your ID (it would look like productdomain . com). In both cases, you will loose your commission.

Here are few tips that could help any affiliate business to fight back those "hijackers" and prevent them to ever "chop" your affiliate link. Those are great tips, but if someone really tries to steal your commission, it might succeed, finally.

TIP #1

You can use a java script redirect page in order to hide the affiliate link. Here is where your affiliate link can be found and the customers can have access to your products. This is a great way to avoid a maximum exposure of your affiliate link in emails or ezine ads, until the customer is redirected to the true affiliate link, where your ID is also viewable.

Here is an example of how cans this be done: productdomain . com/productA. html , and the ID can be seen in the address bar – "productdomain". Even if the hijackers can finally access your affiliate link, they will not access it directly from your websites or newsletters. The free redirect scripts are available usually with free java scripts.

TIP #2

You can also use a zero-frame that will hide the affiliate link and give the impression that you redirect people to one of the pages of your website. This method is used by the redirect services as "sub-domains" and you will be given an URL such as productA. productdomain . com .

TIP #3

The most effective way to protect you affiliate links is to use affiliate link cloaker software. Visitors will be redirected to something that looks like your web page but pulls in the affiliate link such as the sub-folder services. (Here is the url example of how it would look: ww. productdomain . com/recommends/productA).

Therefore, never send a "naked" link through the affiliate programs. There are always hijackers waiting for this, and they might take your commission without you eve being aware of it.

Ideal web hosting webhostinginsider

Life is rarely perfect. You already know while Shangri La is a great idea, it just doesn’t exist. You learn to make do with living in the next best option, San Francisco. The spring of water gushing up to eternal life, not to be found. Will Diet Coke do?

If you are shopping for a web hosting company and seek perfection, you may have to lower your standards a bit and compromise to “pretty good hosting”. In such matters, as always, the issues boil down to this matrix:

1> Price

2> Quality/Speed

3> Service/Support

You can have at most two out of three. Of course, if you are not careful, even one out three may not happen. If you are richer than Croesus(or are Amazon. com), you can safely discount the “Price” factor and focus on Quality and Service. Chances are that you are trying to have to make some difficult decisions, based on your affordability, the kind of visitors you are likely to have, and the complexity of your website.

The web hosting companies, despite what they may tell you have similar costs. The servers, routers, and bandwidth cost essentially the same. While some may have savings on hardware and infrastructure due to economies of scale, they have a high sunk cost in coming up with the infrastructure. Therefore they pass those costs to you, bringing them to par with smaller shops without the soccer field size room of rackspace humming with PCs.

So why are some cheaper than others? Let’s go back to the matrix. More likely than not, the hosting is putting way too many sites on each server trying to recoup their costs a bit at a time. If you have an informational, text heavy site about the Inuit community in Congo, this solution may actually be fine. You don’t get too many visitors in the first place, and the few who do, will put up with a slower loading site. They don’t have much choice—a google search of “Inuit community in congo"” shows just about 20 hits. These visitors will stick around and read your fine article.

However, really there isn’t much money in writing about “Inuit community in congo" and understandably most people create websites to make money. Let’s consider a different term “tickets”. Here we are talking 850 Million hits. Lots of people want to sell tickets and the visitor has a lot of choices. A vast choice encourages “impatient visitor”--ff your site is too slow to load up, they will happily cruise to the next site. A slow site could be because the site owner chose the cheapest possible hosting company with little regard to speed.

Given the steps most website owners go through to bring visitors to their site, I am shocked by the number of owners willing to pay 5,000 dollar per month for PPC, but not willing to cough up an extra 50 dollar for fast hosting. These penny wise site owners have an enormous number of bounce back visitors. They often wonder why Google is charging them for PPC clicks, but their web statistics don’t show any corresponding visitors. Little do they know, that visitor got tired of waiting for the site to load up on your slow server and has happily paid more to a competitor to buy that concert ticket.

We have discussed price versus quality—what about service? If you are running a single site, with few expected visitors and no marketing costs, you can comfortably choose an inexpensive alternative. However, if you are running a serious business and suddenly are faced by a DNS foul up, you wouldn’t want to wait for the weekend to be over and 9:00 AM PST to stroke before someone can handle your request. Things need to happen and right away too!

It’s a complex world…no Shangri La’s here. It helps to know the issues, and what your business needs are before choosing the web hosting solution that is best for you.

The art of networking

As an entrepreneur you'll come in contact with numerous other business people as you conduct your day to day operations. They could be lawyers, suppliers, customers or other business services providers. These individuals are important to your business in many ways. If they bought your product or service or if you hired them, you can also gain their business knowledge, experience, ideas, and advice if you stay connected to them. This is what networking is all about. Networking is when two or more different businesses stay in contact on a regular basis to help build and improve each others business.

Some of the benefits which can be gained by talking to other business people are:

·Knowledge or information that you didn't have before

·Advice on how to solve a current business problem

·Leads to a new business project or opportunity

·Joint ventures and cross promotion deals

·Learning important skills that you didn't have before

·Constructive criticism that improves your business

·Brainstorming that sparks a profitable business idea

·Encouragement and motivation for your projects

There are several ways to network with other business people. You could participate in business expositions and trade shows. You might visit business clubs and associations or take part in on-line business related forums, e-mail discussion groups or chat rooms. By using your creativity, you could come up with even more ideas.

If you have the time, you could start your own networking group. You could hold meetings at a local seminar room, at a park, or at your own business facility. If you want to hold meetings on-line you can use a private chat room. You should publish a print or e-mail newsletter to keep members informed of meeting dates and times.

It is helpful to keep all of your business associates' contact information in one place. Make sure it is organized by business type or profession for easy searching, so when you need some advice on a new marketing campaign you can call your marketing expert. Be sure to follow up and stay in contact by phone or email on a regular basis.

Another fantastic way to network with other businesses is to operate a joint venture. This is when two or more businesses join together to work on a project for a set period of time. Participating in joint ventures with other businesses can increase your chances of beating your competition, increase your sales and increase your profits quickly. Other advantages of a joint venture are:

·money can be saved when businesses share operating costs

·referrals can come from other businesses

·valuable time can be saved when businesses share the workload

·new products and services can be offered to your customers

·new business associates can be gained

·money can be saved by sharing advertising and marketing costs

·advice and information can be obtained from other businesses

You can find joint venture opportunities with businesses online or

offline. I try to find businesses that have the same target audience, but are not in direct competition with my business. Here are a few ways to find joint ventures online:

·subscribe and participate in e-mail discussion groups, online forums and newsgroups that deal with your target audience

·subscribe to e-zines that deal with your targeted audience

·note on your Web site or e-zine that you are interested in doing joint ventures

·search in your favorite web directories and search engines to find businesses for joint ventures online

Once you find a business simply e-mail them your proposal.

Explain to the business owner the benefits of the joint venture.

Discuss why it would be a win/win situation for both of your businesses. Provide feedback regarding their business, Web site, products and services. Using the methods above will enhance your chances of constructing a profitable joint venture.

Content writing for your website s audience

What do you know about your website's audience? How well do you understand them? As with any communications medium, the web requires authors to have a good understanding about those with whom they wish to communicate.

Content writing can be one of the most difficult parts of search engine marketing. You need to write to please both the search engines and your website’s audience. A good Search Engine Marketer (SEM) will understand his or her target audience. A great way to understand your targets audience’s nature, you can conduct online market research. Doing thorough research can bring valuable information such as the keywords that you as an SEM needs to be targeting. When writing your content these keywords need to be weaved into it while still focusing on the purpose on the content.

When it comes to content writing the first thing you need to keep in mind is that your audience needs to be drawn in. The content needs to be interesting, descriptive and it needs to lead the audience to a purchase decision.

How your content is written can affect how your website appears in relation to its competition. To search engines such as Google, the content of your website is very important. You can no longer just pummel your content with one specific keyword to try fooling search engines into listing your website higher in its rankings. Many search engines now search your copy for relevancy, making their results more valuable to users.

Another useful byproduct of writing quality content for visitors is that if they like it, they will link to it. This will result in the page (and the site) climbing even higher in the search engines' rankings.

In the end it is your website visitors that you should write for and not the search engines. Search engines are looking to please their users and so should you.

How to conference call

Conference calling is one of the best business solutions to conduct a meeting over the telephone, in which more than three persons can participate to share some points. Or in other words, it is a means of communicating with more than one person simultaneously, without actually being physically present at a designated place. Conference calling offers mainly three modes for communication, i. e., audio, video, and web based conference calls. It is obvious that these conference calls eliminate a major cost for the companies, and therefore, are very much advantageous for the organizations. Some of the advantages offered by these conference calls are:

Cost Effective Process: Though the fee for availing the service varies with service providers, yet conference call is a much economical option to conduct a virtual meeting and to convey the message to the people concerned. Because in conducting a meeting with the conventional processes, a lot of travel expenses and hotel accommodation expenses are involved; whereas in case of conference calling, nothing of that sort is required.

Time saving process: It is as easy as thinking of talking to some persons and you can make a conference call immediately. Usually it is very good option for conferences that are called on very short notices. It also does not involve any loss of work and the message can be conveyed at a faster pace.

Helps in relation building: It is sometimes difficult for a business to conduct meetings for every segment of employees at regular intervals, which may lead to some misconceptions among employees and they may feel neglected. However, conference calling can eliminate such situations and helps in building good employer-employee relationship.

Simple and easily accessible: The service provider links the persons to be involved in a conference call and the persons do not need to have any special equipment for the same, as it simply linked with the ordinary phone or mobile phone. The person conducting a conference call is facilitated with a speaker, so that all persons involved must be heard at that point. The other persons can talk with the main conductor from their places.

Facilitate Data transfer: Audio conference calling is limited only to transfer instructions or views verbally; but via video conferencing, it is possible to transfer presentations or data to all the persons. With this service there will be no mistakes in sending and receiving instructions, as if there is any, one can clear it immediately and correct it.

Distance is not a problem: With the help of conference calling, the limitations of distance can be eliminated, as it can be used for talking to persons anywhere around the globe. That is why it is most commonly used by small as well as big business houses for communication purposes.

From the above advantages that conference calling provide, we can easily gauge the importance that they hold for any business model and organization setup—they are indispensable!

Selection based on your personality and places

It is worth meaningful and really a wondrous idea to select a fragrance that would complement the aura of your personality. This is the primary formula to select and pick the right bottle of perfume. The salient thing that has to be kept in the forefront of the mind is that the selected perfume must never mark a dominating effect on your personality. Whether it is the “Exuberant” or “Dunhill Desire Blue” or “ Ralph Lauren’s Polo Sport” it should suit your persona to the fullest extent.

The selection of fragrances varies greatly according to the places you go. If you are planning to go to a cocktail and dance party with so many guests, it is advisable that you must chose such perfumes that allows to create a cloud of vapor of some hard fragrance. A couple of whiffs of Dior’s Dunes are great for such situations, while it may prove to be worst while setting out for a formal business meeting. In case of the formal meetings and offices little bit of sophistication with soft fragrance would add special meaning to your personality.

Hence while shopping for the perfumes it is significant that you should better know as to what purpose you are actually going to choose the perfume for. Your pick should be different if you are planning to purchase the perfume to be used while attending a wedding party than that while attending an interview or an official meeting. Remember that in each of the two different situations you are going to present yourself with two distinctive personalities – although the character may be the same.

Choices for him

Amongst the awe-inspiringly huge assortment of perfumes – for both oriental and occidental brands of male perfumes, some of the worth mentioning names have been admired to be the excellent choices. The names that have the charismatic effects and sell like the hot cakes are the Curious, Dior’s Dunes, Desire, Glow, Obsession, and some more like these.

On the other level, the sharp yet soft oriental woody scent of the Angels, Roger & Gallet would mark your fashion and style of stepping into the threshold of the conference hall or the director’s chamber.

Choices for her

Reputable designers have always been looking for scopes to satisfy the ever-lasting demand of the exotic fragrances for the world’s fashionable women section. While the “Burberry Weekend”, “Carolina Herrera” and “Chacherel’s Amor” for women have been widely admired by the office goers, the names like “Bvlgari Green Tea”, “Estee Lauder’s Pleasures”, “Loves Baby “– the floral elegance and etc. are excellent choices for party lovers.
